Police: Man shot in southeast Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating after a man was shot in Grand Rapids Friday.

Around 7:50 p.m. officers were called to the 500 block of Worden Street near the intersection of Madison Avenue and MLK Jr. Street. They found the victim around the corner, in the 800 block of Union Avenue, the Grand Rapids Police Department said in a release.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, was shot in the hip, GRPD said. He was brought to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Police do not have any suspects in custody.
