Dr. Paul Faringer was born and raised in San Diego, California. He chose to become a physician because he wanted a career that would allow him to use his strengths to help others, which is something he finds very satisfying. At the Oregon Health Sciences University, he trained in general surgery with a surgeon who was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. He convinced Dr. Paul to move to Kona, Hawaii where he built a private practice with his own surgical center. After over 10 years of successful but isolated private practice in Kona, Dr. Paul embraced the opportunity to work with a group of highly educated colleagues in the intellectually stimulating setting of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG).Working for our medical group allows him to focus on patient care without having to worry about running a business. He finds it incredibly beneficial to work with such a large group of physicians who are there to help and support their patients. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and past board member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
