Dr. James Butterworth is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He completed a fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed his residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.His clinical and academic interests stem from a love of microsurgery and commitment to education. As a result, a large part of his practice is devoted to autologous breast reconstruction through a variety of flaps and combinations. Additionally, they have worked hard to build a thriving multidisciplinary lymphatic program aimed at both prevention and symptom management through conservative and surgical measures.
