Fort Myers police respond to aggravated assault at Sunrise Towers apartments

Fort Myers police said they investigated an aggravated assault at a Fort Myers apartment building on Saturday morning.

According to a Twitter post, they were called to the Sunrise Towers apartment building in the early morning hours.

Fort Myers Police responded to an aggravated assault investigation at 2811 Central Avenue in the early morning hours. After a brief standoff, all individuals voluntarily exited the apartment and we were able to detain all suspects. This was an isolated incident. pic.twitter.com/v711RDppmY

After a brief standoff, all individuals voluntarily exited the apartment and police were able to detain the suspects, police said.

Police did not say if any arrests were made or if anyone was injured.

At least seven patrol cars could be seen at the Sunrise Towers on Central Avenue. Yellow caution tape surrounded the building, blocking off all of the entrances.

Police called it an isolated incident.

No other information is known at this time.
